Skipping Workshop At Local Primary School

Ashurst Wood Primary School hosted a Skipping Workshop at the end of last term, which included the whole school, as part of the Healthy Schools Project.

Rebecca Turner (Year 6) wrote the following review

“Mr Galley came to our school.  All the classes had a turn at skipping at different times but we just happened to be first. He taught us loads of skipping games, such as ‘Knockout’ and ‘Keep the Pot Boiling’. We learnt so many new skips such as crossover which is quite hard and also pretzel which is very difficult!  We also learnt ‘Butterfly’ which is a partner skip.  You can tell by the name that you make a shape of a butterfly. Older children did a demonstration to the rest of the school to show our new skills.  Everybody enjoyed it and we have been practising in the playground ever since.”
